CIPM Sri Lanka, the nation’s leader in Human Resource Management, has broken new ground to establish the first ever International Study Centre in Bangladesh. This national initiative will prove a vital conduit to support Sri Lanka’s economic recovery during this critical time enabling foreign exchange inflows and also growing the country’s reputation as a regional hub and the de-facto standard for HR professionals. The Study Centre will empower the HR fraternity in Bangladesh as they can obtain a recognized professional qualification in HRM.
CIPM Sri Lanka recently established the Bangladesh International Study Centre through a partnership with BSHRM Institution of Professional Development Limited (BIPD). BIPD is approved by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development UK (CIPD, UK), which earlier accredited CIPM’s own Chartered Qualification as a CIPD, the UK-recognized qualification.Signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was a red-letter day for CIPM Sri Lanka’s long history of more than 60 years. This was the first time CIPM’s professional study programme was introduced to a foreign country.
The strategy was a development of the initial moves to introduce CIPM’sHRM Chartered Qualification to Bangladesh in 2021. A ceremony was held recently to ink the partnership and launch CIPM’s study programmes in Bangladesh.
The event was attended by Mohammad Mashequr Rahman Khan, Chairman, BIPD, Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Managing Director and CEO, BIPD and Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed, Vice-Chairman and Director, BIPD.
Representing CIPM were Jayantha Amarasinghe, President of CIPM, Imm: Past President and Current APFHRM President, Dhammika Fernando, Vice President, Ken Vijayakumar, Members of the CIPM Executive Council as well as the CEO of CIPM, Senior staff members and some faculty members participated in this event.
With the launch of the Centre, CIPM Sri Lanka believes it will be able to support the country’s current dollar crisis while developing international recognition for CIPM’s CQHRM (Chartered Qualification in HRM) programme.
