First 3D stage concert ‘Hellfire’ held in Lotus Tower

In a bid to boost night economy and entertainment activities the First 3D stage concert in Sri Lanka ‘Hellfire’ was successfully concluded in Colombo Lotus Tower last Saturday (1).

This was Sri Lanka’s first International electronic dance music (EDM) festival and the first 3D stage in Sri Lanka attracting over 10, 000 spectators.

One of the organizers ‘Hellfire’ M. Thorz, said that they were very disappointed in the manner in which Colombo Municipality cold shouldered this event from the beginning with various excuses.

The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) had given approval for the concert but later had instructed the organizers not to display the name ‘Hellfire’. “It was sad to note that one of the highest elected members to the CMC said that this event was allegedly promoting Satanism. This is completely false and what we did was to create an entertainment landmark for Sri Lanka which can attract regional tourism in the future.”

He thanked the State Tourism Minister, Diana Gamage and her Coordinating Secretary to the Minister Dr. Arosha Fernando saying that they both have helped them at a time they had to confront a top CME official in Colombo.

“Both Gamage and Fernando helped us to successfully conduct this event and now we have got confidence to host this event inviting foreign spectators as well. Thorz further said that the event also had the support of the Police and the military.

State Minister Gamage who continues to promote Night Economy in Sri Lanka inaugurated ‘ Street Food Festival’ on the previous Friday (23rd) in the Dutch Hospital premises in Fort with over 5,000 people said that each Friday night she is intending to inaugurate a mega evening event in the City of Colombo with the view to develop the Night Economy in Sri Lanka which is an important aspect of the development of tourism in Sri Lanka in this crucial hour.
