Thailand Ambassador Poj Harnpol expressed satisfaction of the recently budget proposals of President and Finance Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe when the president of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) Keerthi Gunawardane, and the board members met the Ambassador, at the Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo.
The ambassador specially appreciated the development plans for the rural economy, digital economy, Green economy and Agriculture He stated that Thailand is ready to assist and support Sri Lanka to share knowledge in these areas. The Ambassador stated in the area of agriculture there are so many possibilities for both countries to work together and share knowledge.
He stressed the need of improving the ease of doing business in Sri Lanka. FCCISL proposed a joint collaboration with the Thailand organizations and partners to move forward this initiative for the benefit of the regional chambers.
“We stated in the proposed FTA with Thailand that we can take into consideration all the benefits for both countries and ensure the FCCISL will work towards improving the ease of doing business and work as a catalyst to improve business among Thailand and Sri Lanka,” Gunawardena said.
