AmănaBank and MegaPay (Pvt) Limited recently concluded an agreement to facilitate public donations to Amăna Bank OrphanCare Trust.
The partnership will enable the general public in Sri Lanka to directly donate to the Bank’s flagship CSR venture through Pay&Go’s islandwide network of payment kiosks.
Launched in 2019, Orphan Care is an independent trust enabled by Amana Bank dedicated exclusively towards addressing an important yet unattended need of Orphan children, which is providing qualitative and financial support as they are forced to leave institutional care upon reaching the age of 18.
With over 14000 registered orphans reported in Sri Lanka, the Trusthas to-date enrolled over 2500 orphans represented by 75 orphanages to its OrphanCare program. The Bank has further set its sights on reaching out to all orphans in the country.
In yet another strategic joint promotional initiative, Lanka IOC in association with the Stafford Motor Co. (Pvt) Ltd commenced a mega campaign islandwide from January 13.
Continuing a unique digital and brick and mortar concept, the cross promotion would provide motorists the opportunity to drive away with Honda scooters with a total prize offering worth over 2.25 million.
On the side-lines of the event, Lanka IOC Managing Director Manoj Gupta stated that this unique tie up and alliance with Stafford Motors is to bridge the gap with a customer and through such a joint promotional tie up Stafford will be utilising the platform of Lanka IOC petrol sheds for creating brand awareness, display of the bikes at some of the petrol sheds.
Around 300 registered students with The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) living in Matale would not have to come to Colombo frequently, with the opening of a University Study Centre offering most of the academic and administrative facilities like Day Schools, Access to E-learning Resources, Access to the OUSL Library and Student Registrations.
The new study centre is situated on the Matale Road in a accessible location.
This is the 19th Study Centre in the OUSL circuit that was opened by the Vice Chancellor OUSL Prof. S. A. Ariadurai on January 9.
Additional District Secretary L.P. Madanayakeand K.P.K.L.P Maduwanthi Divisional Secretary Matale graced the occasion. OUSL marks this milestone at the reach of its 40th year. A pioneer in open and distance learning with nine regional centres in Colombo, Kandy, Anrudhapura, Jaffna, Batticoloa, Matara, Kurunegla, Ratnapura and Badulla one in each province.
Eighteen other Study Centres have been opened namely in Ambalangoda, Galle, Ambalantota, Monaregala, Ampara, Trincomalee, Mullaitive, Killinochchi, Mannar, Puttalam, Kalpitiya, Gampha, Kalutara, Kegalle, Hatton and in the Bandarawela, Kuliyapitiya and Polonnaruwa totalling 28 Centres islandwide.
