Paddy cultivation with Row Seeding Technology introduced in Ampara district

For the first time in the history of Ampara district, the ‘Handrich Agro Care Solution and Industries Centre’ providing agricultural machinery and guidance introduced paddy cultivation with technology of row seeding with the help of ‘Drum Seeder’ in Addalaichenai.

With the assistance of Addalaichenai Agricultural Extension Centre, the ceremony took place at Meelath Naga paddy land coming under the Addalaichenai DS division recently. Handrich Agro Care Solution and Industries Centre Working Committee Chairman S. L. Mohamed Anver presided over the function.

Officials explained how to operate Row Seeder in sowing seed paddy in rows and its advantages. Usage of poison free food, new agricultural methods, and the usage of organic fertilizer and the benefit of sowing in lines using the Drum Seeder were highlighted to the farmers.
CDB Concludes First Digital Art Competition ‘CDBRankatiSiththamRoo 2021’ on a High Note

Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB), Sri Lanka's premier financial services provider, launched 'CDB RankatiSiththamRoo 2021' in commemoration of world children’s day with the aim of inspiring young minds to express themselves and create. The initiative concluded on a high note on October 9, 2021, via a Facebook live stream. The participants' submissions for the islandwide Digital Art Competition were exhibited prominently, followed by an interactive session for the children.

To develop the necessary cognitive skills, children must be able to express themselves creatively at a young age. However, due to the current pandemic, children are confined to their homes, with fewer opportunities to express themselves creatively.

People’s Bank inaugurates Self Banking Unit in Udispattuwa

People’s Bank recently introduced the benefits of modern banking services to the people of Udispattuwa by opening a Self-Banking Unit (SBU) at the Medadumbara Pradeshiya Sabaha Fair (Pola) building. Prior to this, there was no commercial banking presence in Udispattuwa town.

The Self Banking Unit, which consists of an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) and a Cash Deposit Machine (CDM), allows customers to enjoy fast, convenient digital banking services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Wickramaarachchi Medadumbara Divisional Secretary, together with People’s Bank’s Buddhika Ranatungage, Regional Manager Kandy, Tissa Tennakoon, Assistant Regional Manager and S.B.S.K. Priyadharshana, Teldeniya Branch Manager, participated at the event.

The opening ceremony was carried out in accordance with the COVID-19 health guidelines, due to the pandemic situation in the country.
